KANALPORGRES.COM - April 16, 2025 — Video conferencing platform Zoom experienced a significant service disruption on Wednesday, affecting more than 50,000 users worldwide. The outage temporarily hindered access to meetings and disrupted connectivity for many users across different regions.
According to reports from outage-tracking site Downdetector, tens of thousands of users began reporting issues with joining meetings and accessing Zoom’s services around midday. The incident marked one of the largest service interruptions for the company in recent months.
In response, Zoom Communications Inc. quickly acknowledged the issue via its official social media accounts, assuring users that the technical team was working to resolve the problem. A few hours later, the company confirmed that services had been fully restored.
“We have resolved the issue and services are now operating normally. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” Zoom stated in a public announcement.
The disruption highlights the continuing reliance on video conferencing platforms for business, education, and personal communication, even as pandemic restrictions have eased in many parts of the world.
Zoom, which gained massive global popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, remains one of the leading tools for remote collaboration. The company has pledged to investigate the cause of the outage and take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.***
